A Greek fashion designer made history on June 24, staging the first-ever fashion show inside the Panathenaic Stadium in Athens. Paris Valtadoros presented his new collection at the ancient marble venue, drawing over 130 models in a production organizers described as unlike anything seen in Greek fashion before.
The collection took direct inspiration from the stadium's architecture. Valtadoros built the show around his signature ruffles, this time shaped by the curves and lines of the Panathenaic's marble tiers, alongside bold two-tone contrasts and printed patterns pulled from the stadium's geometric forms.
The event drew a notable crowd. U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle was among the guests, alongside Greek Olympic athletes Piyi Devetzi and Vasiliki Millousi, actress Eleni Chatzidou, and a range of public figures from Greece and abroad.
The Panathenaic Stadium, built entirely of white marble, last hosted the modern Olympic Games in 1896. It remains one of the most recognizable monuments in Greece, making Tuesday night's show a significant moment for the country's fashion industry.
Valtadoros has built his design identity around geometric structure and dramatic volume. The Panathenaic setting gave those elements a new frame, with the stadium's curved rows serving as both backdrop and direct source material for the collection's shapes and prints.
