A volunteer in Fourka, Chalkidiki is battling an active wildfire with nothing but a tractor, working directly on the fire line to stop the flames from entering the settlement and destroying properties. Video footage captured the extraordinary effort, showing the man operating his tractor literally on top of the advancing fire. Firefighters and volunteers are throwing every available resource at the blaze as it pushes through the Kassandra peninsula in Chalkidiki. The fire has been moving aggressively through the region, and residents and locals have refused to stand by while emergency crews work to contain it. The footage from Fourka, circulated by Skai, shows just how close the fire came to the edge of the village. The volunteer's tractor work appears aimed at creating firebreaks and clearing dry vegetation ahead of the flames before they could reach homes. Wildfires have been hitting multiple parts of Greece hard this summer. The Chalkidiki peninsula, with its dense forest cover and dry summer conditions, has been particularly vulnerable to rapid fire spread. #Chalkidiki #WildfireGreece #Greece
