U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle says the relationship between the United States and Greece has never been stronger, calling it the most powerful bilateral tie in the history of the two countries.
Guilfoyle made the remarks in a social media post following her appearance at the annual General Assembly of the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce in Athens. She praised the Chamber for consistently bringing together friends, partners, and people who have played a defining role in building that relationship over the decades.
"I am proud of what our two countries have built together," Guilfoyle wrote, "and optimistic about the opportunities ahead to take this relationship even further." She expressed confidence that the bilateral partnership still has room to deepen.
The American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce has long served as a key institutional bridge between the U.S. and Greek business communities. Guilfoyle's comments signal that Washington views Athens as a priority ally in the Eastern Mediterranean at a time when the region carries significant strategic weight.
Greece has expanded defense cooperation with the United States in recent years, hosting American naval assets and participating in joint exercises across the Aegean and Mediterranean. The ambassador's tone suggests that diplomatic and economic momentum between the two countries is expected to continue building through the rest of 2026.
