Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan wants him removed from power, framing it as proof that Israel's enemies understand what's coming for them. Speaking in an interview on Channel 14, Netanyahu pointed out that both Erdogan and Hezbollah's Naim Qassem have publicly called for his downfall, and said the reason is simple: they know Israel will finish the job. On Iran, Netanyahu said Israel has uprooted the threat but warned the danger isn't gone. He described Iran's nuclear ambitions using a medical analogy, saying the cancer has been removed but may have spread, and that any metastasis could develop into a renewed and very real threat. He stated flatly that Iran has not abandoned its nuclear program and still intends to produce atomic bombs, and that he has already stopped them once and will stop them again for as long as he is prime minister. Netanyahu also issued a direct warning about Turkey, describing Erdogan as a new adversary that Israel must prevent from gaining ground. He said Israel is a small country that can be surrounded, and that a prime minister must therefore be able to act on the global stage to secure its future. He described the current Iranian regime as weaker than it has ever been, standing on shaky ground, and said he is committed to subduing it. He also rejected any possibility of a Palestinian state, saying he has not allowed it and will not allow it on the land of Israel.
