Vice President JD Vance is reportedly being lined up as the principal guest for the inaugural Breitbart Europe Summit in Athens, scheduled for mid-February 2027, according to a report by Directus citing sources at Breitbart News Network. The White House has not officially confirmed his participation. The summit is set to take place at the Hotel Grande Bretagne in Athens under the theme "Western Alliances and Strategic Convergence."

Greece hosts the U.S. naval base at Souda Bay in Crete and the strategically important logistics hub at Alexandroupolis, both of which have taken on added significance in NATO defense planning in recent years. Athens is also pushing to expand its role as a regional energy hub through projects like the Great Sea Interconnector, which would link Greece and Cyprus with a planned extension toward Israel.
