GRECO AND AGORA
@greco and @agorabygreco
Greco is a truly Greek modern eatery from Owners Demetri Tsolakis and Stefanos Ougrinis who first introduced the concept to Newbury Street in 2017. Greco embodies the neighborhood that the owners grew up in, the stories they heard and the people they love. Greco shares all of their tastes of home. Greco is their “meraki,” the need to remember and create. And there is one way and one way only to do that - their TRULY GREEK way. Greco has found a delicious way to blend quality and convenience and take street fare to a whole new level. From gyros filled with the highest quality, free range chicken, beef and pork to soups and salads made with local vegetables, the chefs prepare Greek fare fast – with no compromise on fresh. The menu at Greco showcases a bountiful mix of customizable pita wraps, plates, salads, homemade sauces, soups, sides and legendary loukoumades. Greco’s Truly Greek coffee program includes Freddo Espresso, Freddo Cappuccino and the classic and iconic Greek iced coffee known as Frappe. Greco has four locations in Boston’s Back Bay, Seaport District, Downtown Boston at Milk Street and Hub Hall in the West End. Greco has won awards from the Boston Globe magazine Best of the New, Boston magazine Best of Boston for Best Greek, Fast Casual and Boston magazine, Best of Boston for Best Wraps. Agora by Greco is a new concept at the Pier 4 Seaport location. In ancient Greece, Agora was an open space used for public markets and as a meeting place.

Agora by Greco is a thoughtfully re-defined modern market with exclusive products from Greece. Since opening Greco, the team has been carefully sourcing from small, independent and boutique purveyors throughout Greece. Agora features an in-house cheese shop with various styles of PDO cheeses such as graviera, ladotyri, mastelo and manouri. The olive oil is from trees that are harvested exclusively for Greco. Provisions such as charcuterie, imported pasta, baked goods, nuts, honey and seasonal signature Greek treats are plentiful. For the first time, Greco’s signature sauces such as tzatziki, spicy feta and charred eggplant are also available for retail.

KRASI
@krasiboston
Krasi is located in the heart of Boston's bustling Back Bay neighborhood. Krasi is a place to uncover and rediscover Greece.

Krasi is almost 1,200 square feet where Chef and Owner Theo Tsilipanos and Executive Chef Valentine Howell enliven the open kitchen complete with a wood stone oven and classic Greek souvla. The menu at Krasi takes guests on tour throughout Greece, exploring lesser-known regions. Fresh baked breads, cured meats with custom old world Greek recipes, a selection of PDO cheese and dips including tableside tzatziki abound. Rustic hot and cold meze include a well-rounded variety of plant-based selections, as well as those from the land and sea. An option to Feast Like The Gods is also available, where guests can indulge in one of every meze on the menu. As a whole, the menu is a nod to ancient traditions and techniques that are lesser known.

The beverage program echoes Krasi’s vision to take guests on a tour through Greece with the largest all Greek wine lists in the country, as well as an authentic Greek beer and cordial program with over 25 selections of ouzo, tsipouro, mastiha, tentura and more. Wine Director Evan Turner, formerly of award-winning Helen Greek Food & Wine in Houston, joins the team at Krasi to bestow his incomparable knowledge for Greek wine. To Greeks, wine signifies a moment in life and is a core value of their communication. The wine program at Krasi portrays the art of wine that is two-fold. First, exploring both the art of preparing wine the old way with traditional techniques passed down from generation to generation, and second, the art of consumption as Greeks enjoy wine as companion to all of life’s meaningful and varied moments. Additionally, the list features grapes such as Limniona that date back to more than 3,000 years which almost became extinct, despite being written about by Homer and Aristotle. Each wine tells a specific story from Greece. Silverman Trykowski Associates are behind the architecture and interior design of Krasi. The 58-seat space has been completely reimagined, showcasing gray marble plaster walls, imported brass accents from Greece and repurposed antique wine decanters serving as lighting fixtures. The chef’s table for 8-10 guests reveals a glass top over a myriad of succulents. Partner Stefanos Ougrinis sourced a series of portraits called “Wise Reinvented” from Thessaloniki artist Stavros Damos. The portraits bring Greek gods, poets and philosophers to life in a uniquely different way.

HECATE
@hecatebar
Before Morgan le Fay held sway over King Arthur or Severus Snape created Veritaserum, there was Hecate. Her potion making has traveled down the ages as legend, and this new realm honors her intellect and power. Hecate is a gatekeeper, protecting those who need safe passage from the dark to the light. This bar is dedicated in her name and the spirit guides provide passage to a modern world of elixirs.

Hecate is a 24 seat European style cocktail bar from the team behind Krasi. Owners Demetri Tsolakis, Stefanos Ougrinis, Tasha Breshinsky and Kayla Padilla have conjured up a new realm with Beverage Directors Aliz Meszesi and Lou Charbonneau. The subterranean space celebrates the underworld, and is encapsulated in stone and adorned with a single source of light alongside the flickering elements of fire. Upon entering the cocktail bar, guests are greeted at The Threshold, one of the many entranceways where Hecate often resided, and where they can choose from a trinity of Sippers to stimulate their senses for what lies ahead. Beyond the initial passage, an 8 seat bar is the focal point where Hecate’s spirit guides transcend all boundaries with Rites + Rituals (10 signature cocktails), Dry Spells (3 non alcoholic beverages) and Fermented Grains (3 beers, 3 Greek wines). Krasi’s Executive Chef Valentine Howell pays homage to the goddess with a selection of Offerings (6 bar snacks).

By her very nature, Hecate is shrouded in mystery. The names of the Rites & Rituals hail from the occult with builds for the drinks based on cultural heritages spanning the globe. Rare and unique spirits are one of the many gifts bestowed upon guests with the caveat that Hecate does not offer something for everyone, Hecate offers something for everyone who wants to experience that which they have not beckoned before.
